Morning all. I thought I was early for a Saturday DT.

Overcast but warm here which is good as I'm off to the allotment shortly. I had planned to spend much of the day there but my hayfever is so bad all I now intend on doing is watering and perhaps planting some more radish! So far this year the allotment has died a death - first it was too warm too early, then it didn't stop raining and now the hayfever is getting to me.

The seeds we planted didn't come through (too wet) and the plug plants just don't seem to have grown. Even the courgette which usually you can't stop. And the broad beans are full of flowers but are not quite a foot high (and no, they aren't dwarf ones). It's just been too wet for them.

I am just off to take L to school for their Alton Towers trip. She is very excited about it - she hasn't been since she was 3. Its mad really as we live only an hour away but its just so expensive to go as a family, particularly when everyone has to pay the same price irrespective of whether or not they are going on the rides. I think a wristband system would be much better.

I'm supposed to be off out to a Comedy Club tonight with a few friends but I'm not sure if I'll make it now because of my hayfever. I've really suffered this last week to the point where its making me feel quite ill!

Morning everyone

Hot already - not as hot as you Dippy, but I'm now wearing my "touch the shoulders and no where else" dresses

We have to go to Bente's later, as her family are leaving today - a right pain in the bum, but our friends are coming up too and will have a dip in the pool, whilst we slog away

Looks like our English neighbour has sold her house, as the sign has gone this morning - it definately was there yesterday - so I'm peeved that she's sold first   but also glad, as she probably gave the blinkin' house away  and it's one less in competition ;)

Debih, hope your hayfever improves quickly, the local honey here certainly sorted me out :D

Hope you all have a good day and the sun shines for you xx

Morning all - my what a night. we had about an hour of thunder and lightening; most spectacular. And silly me was worried about the cats so got up to check on them onto to worry when I couldn't find them. Daft buggers were all out in the rain more interested in the hedgehog and other nightly going ons than the thunder. An 'early'ish' start to the day for me (for a Saturday that is), getting two new tyres fitted to my car. Then back home to do some washing and then off to get my nails done so a lazy day all in all

DT,I love early mornings; usually so quiet, but not nice when you can't sleep because of the heat. Do you have a/c - or do you keep that for the really hot summer months only?

Ally enjoy the BBQ, it's always lovely to catch up with good friends

Debih, sorry the allotment isn't doing as it should. I haven't planted up all that much outside - only the two courgette plants but they were bought as plants and are in pots. Re the hayfever; what are you using for it. I'm finding that a nose spray is so much more effective this year than the tablets. And Ton's comment re the local honey is spot on - do you know anyone with bees that you could get some honey from?

Ton, hope you're having a good time with your friends. And fingers crossed the 'cheap' house is indeed off the market so the others can go for what they should be. Don't work too hard at Bente's

Have a lovely day everyone xxx

Good morning everybody

Waiting for a builder to come. One of the joints in the guttering at the back is loose and the rain drops straight down onto the windows and walls.
We are also having the gutters cleaned as they have never been done since they were fitted about 20 years ago.
This builder has put new flashing round the bay window at the front as we were getting water inside when it rained heavily. It seems to have cured the problem.

Sunny but there are some clouds about.
When I had my blood pressure checked yesterday the nurse said the results were very good.

Morning everyone :) :)

We also had storms last night, the thunder frightened Fraggle but he went in with Becks who looked after him 8-) ;) I was hoping for sunshine, but it looks overcast this morning  Harry is here, and also full of hayfever, Debih :( Poor lad, luckily I had the anti histamines I bought to take to Corfu in case I ate anything that disagreed with my allergies or got bitten, and he's taken one of those :? Hope you feel well enough later to go out ((((x))))

Ally, Dippy, enjoy your Fun in the Sun :D   xxxx

Cruiser I'm glad your BP was ok :)

Ria enjoy having your nails done, and your weekend in general - it's been a long hot week working in London I'm sure, so you'll be ready for a bit of a rest :)

Don't work too hard Ton xxx

We'll be out and about later no doubt, depends on what H wants to do really :)

Have a great day everyone xxxx :)

Morning all :D

We had a big storm here yesterday evening, lots of thunder and lightening, it was still rumbling away when we went to bed around 12.30ish. It's nice and dry at the moment, but not as bright and sunny as yesterday morning. Fingers crossed the rain stays away for youngest daughter and SIL who will driving here from Kent. I'm expecting them sometime around lunch time, think they're planning to take advantage of being here so they can pop out to the cinema while we take care of the three boys. Not sure who gets the bigger treat...........hmmmm think it's us

Tomorrow morning we're taking them all out for brekkie, the boys love it and of course it works out sooooo much cheaper than going out for lunch. Eldest daughter and the two younger ones are coming over to join us, so tomorrow promises to be quite hectic too.

Hope you all have a good day :D
