That is sad. I really don't like Ade Edmondson, I read an interview with him when he said, regarding Rik's accident, "he's not the same person anymore, I know it's because of his head injury, but I just find it hard to be around him now' Well what a shame for you Ade

Apparently he and Rik fell out a bit earlier this year, when Rik wanted to reprise Bottom but Ade didn't :?

That does sound a very insensitive thing to say Shell, I must admit I am surprised as he (Ade) seems a very gentle and nice man on anything I've ever seen him in, like Celeb Mastermind and that Yorkshire programme he did............. :( You don't dump friends when they get hurt though, do you? :? :( Perhaps he is one of those people who avoid anything unpleasant or difficult at all costs :? :(

I saw him years ago in Cell Mates at Richmond Theatre with Stephen Fry, they were both brilliant. It is the only thing I have ever seen him in, never watched any of his TV programmes.

Very sad though, much too young.

I liked him a lot but not in The Young Ones or Bottom. He was good as Alan B'stard in The New Statesman and I remember thinking how handsome he was after being used to him in his earlier roles. He was very funny as Flashheart in Blackadder. It's terribly sad that he has died so young. I thought he had recovered fairly well from the quad bike accident when he was in a coma for several days, but it left him with a legacy of epilepsy.

Sad, isn't it, and a shock.
Apart from Blackadder etc, I saw him in a play in London, my parents' next door neighbour was an actor, he was Rik's understudy and gave Mum and I free tickets :)

It looks like it might have been a seizure :( :(

Tim remembers reading the interview with Ade Edmondson as well, it was certainly before last year. In it he said it was because 'Rik couldn't drink anymore so wasn't as much fun' that he hardly saw him

It is so very sad :( I loved him in all his roles, apaprt from the one in Bottom (a bit too slapstick for me ;) ) but nobody ever remembers him in one of his pre Young Ones days as Kevin Turvey, he used to sit on a high stool like Dave Allen, and talk in a really strong Brummie accent about life and stuff, really really funny.

He will be a big miss.

I thought he was very attractive too.
