They're collected by this woman http://gorsemeadow.co.uk/about-mrs-tee/ :D
And the house next door gave him a box of freshly-laid eggs :D

He spent so long talking/being talked at that he only got half his work done and didn't get home for lunch till 2.30 :D
He's gone back out now to try and do the rest ;)

;) ;) ;)

What do you mean ''dried local wild mushrooms'' here that means something completely different, as in ''magic'' :!: Either way EnJOY :!: :!:

Lol Dippy :D
She is the only person legally allowed to harvest wild mushrooms in the New Forest for commercial use, so she gets as many as possible :D And dries the extra.
She's been supplying Michel Roux Jnr and all sorts of others for nearly 40 years, quite well-known around these parts.
There was a big court case a few years ago when the Forest authorities tried to get her stopped, but couldn't come up with a sensible argument against it, so in the end said it had to be done by licence - and she's got the only one.

Given that her husband was apparently something to do with Jimi Hendrix who knows where it all started :D

Those mushrooms btw are absolutely gorgeous! I've had dried mushrooms before, but probably a lot older I guess.
The smell from these was quite intoxicating as they cooked.
We had chicken breasts, some dried (soaked) and some fresh mushrooms, some of the soaking liquor, sherry added, then a splash of vermouth as it was a bit rich, a sprig of fresh thyme, creme fraiche. Bloody lovely :)

Di, that dish sounds amazing; although I'm not sure I'd be more pleased with the wild mushrooms or the 100% free range eggs... having both would be my idea of heaven; I just love 'shrooms and eggs.

I am well and truly very jealous!

Jimi Hendrix was in the first live concert I ever saw - aged 11 ;) 8-)

Meriad the eggs are huge! - feathers and all :)
Two destined I think for the bestest eggy sarnies for lunch tomorrow ;)
The people (oh blimey, confidentiality! - poor Bb said earlier, I shouldn't really have told you) - are about to go away for a month; their son and dil will be there but busy, and they have quite a lot of chickens, she suddenly realised it was a good idea to offload a few :D

Last year he interviewed this lovely Indian lady and said how good whatever she was cooking smelled - and came home with a litre pot of the most gorgeous aubergine curry :D
