Morning Ally, morning all :)
Ever the optimist, I'm sure that before long we over here will be saying how lovely it is too - but not yet ;) :D

Dull and dank but not supposed to rain, so the bedding is whirling in the wash and will be hung out.
We've kept hoping to go down to the sea wall with Minnie but not in the rain/mist/wind we've had. About to check the tide times again for today.
Bb's not working till this afternoon so a bit of leeway, plus the chance of shopping if we have to. I've done fairly well with the h-word and ironing so no need for that today, and cricket to look forward to this afternoon (IPL).
Hope you all have a good day
Di

Morning all. Its actually not raining here.

Rudely awoken at 7.30am by the washing machine repair man asking if he could come in 10 minutes. Shot out of bed for him to eventually ring at 8am to say he was here but couldn't get his van through the gap at the bottom of the lane. I think he was assuming that he would just go onto his next job and miss me out but I demanded that he knock on the door of the people down the lane to park in their car park and I went and fetched him in my car. I've been without a machine for well over two weeks now and can't manage any longer. I hope he fixes it today. Fortunately I've been able to use my neighbours machine as they are away but they get back today - I know they'll still let me use it but I don't like to when they are there - so it will be back to mums if it doesn't get fixed. Its only 18 months old as well!

No plans for the day - I was expecting to have to stay in and wait for the washer man. I might take the girls to the cinema - I fancy seeing that new Angelina Jolie film, Milificent. S has the boyfriend coming round and I doubt its his sort of film so they might have to go watch something else whilst I go see that with L.

Still deciding about a night out tonight.

Cloudy and not very warm here either. :( Forecast is for a wet June but I think we are in for the coldest wettest one on record. :( :( Have a nice day though everyone. :D

Grrrr. He couldn't fix the machine and has to order parts. I'm really cross - when I rang to arrange the visit I told them what code was showing on the machine so they would know what part they needed but the idiot on the phone wrote down the wrong thing so the engineer didn't bring a new circuit board with him.

I asked if they would be able to book it for a day that I am at work and ring me when they are almost here and he said that it depends on who I get on the phone. The only full day I can guarantee being in is a Friday. He said that the parts will take a week to arrive so will come in next Thursday and then I will get a call on Friday arranging a day for them to come out - so it looks as though it could be two weeks on Friday when they come, which will mean a month without my machine.

Needless to say I am hold to them now, waiting to complain bitterly.

Good morning all, very dull but dry here. I'm off to do the big shop weekly and John's planning a 50 mile bike ride over to Shropshire and back, in preparation for his sponsored ride with work in a few weeks. Tom's going into school for Law revision shortly and Joe will be connected to his X Box when he wakes.

Hoping for a better day today. I woke up feeling fine yesterday but by lunchtime was feeling sick and headachey and spent the majority of the rest of the day sleeping or throwing up. John was in charge of food and at dinner time I heard cries of "they're in the second drawer down" from Tom before hearing the car drive off. Yep, he was looking for the takeaway menu.

What a nuisance Debbie! :x

Have a good day all!

Morning all :)

Ally she's still coughing but at least we now know it is viral rather than a CI ;) I think she picked it up when she went to Brum a couple of weekends ago - the doc said this virus can last for weeks and weeks   We need earplugs here as her constant hacking is getting very wearing *cruel mum* ;)

Di I daren't tell you what I read about the weather for the whole of June :| Suffice to say I think we might all be packing for Portugal or Spain :P :o :P

Debih that is ridiculous, he could so easily have bought the right part and fixed it today, how annoyingly inefficient is that????   xxx

Hope today is better for you Jo (((((X)))))

Not sure what we are doing today, if anything. H and I had a mooch around town yesterday after B's appointment - she came straight home - so he might want a quieter day today. I would also love to see Malificent Debih but it isn't one I could persuade H to see

Have a good day everyone :)

Morning all :D

Happy Birthday Saundra!!!!!!    Hope you have a wonderful day! x

Grey and chilly wind this morning this part of the world; but at least the forecast for the weekend is meant to be dry and warmer (just not sunny). Kaz, haven't been on VV much recently what with office moves and being out in the evenings so only just hearing that B hasn't been well :( Hopefully she's feeling loads better very soon and your ears are spared

Debih, that is totally ridiculous re the spare part and I'd call the people and have a right go at them. Can I ask who is paying for the repair and do you have a quote? Reason I ask is that if your machine is anything like my previous one - by the time a new circuit board has been ordered and you factor in the labour to install it; it actually worked out cheaper for me to buy a brand new machine. Given yours is only 18 months old it shouldn't have broken down but still - if you're footing the bill just make sure you know exactly what you're being charged for

Have a lovely day everyone - and Ally, enjoy that sunshine for all of us

I've just looked up the long range forecast for Birmingham as Don is nipping over there a week tomorrow - it looks cruddy and rainy.

I told him this as he stood there in his swimming trunks.
