Phew, so glad she's home, you must be so relieved and I'm sure she's lots happier being home and will get better a lot quicker as well

She's going to have to Nanna, if she wants to get better. Along the lines of do nothing for a few weeks for a speedy recovery or rush back to work and either have another set back or take months to get to full recovery. Hopefully she'll realise that the first option whilst 'annoying' for someone that is a workaholic is the right one

And what a 'hit the nail on the head' comment from E :( :(

That's great news, Nanna, and I hope she is well on the way to recovery now. I'm 4½ weeks post-op, but my hysterectomy was very straightforward and I had no incision with external stitches which seems to make recovery quicker. In spite of all that, it's slow enough - I have days when I feel pretty good, and other days like today when I am so tired, it's really hard to get beyond the tiredness and you have to listen to your body when it demands rest. Never having been a workaholic, I have no problem with that  I have joined a hysterectomy forum and will pm you the url, maybe DIL might like to join up and chat to others who have had similar experiences. Isn't amazing that a child can hit the nail so exactly on the head :D
