Its time to breathe

Postby Weka » 26 May 2014, 09:43

In ..... out....... in....... out........ repeat.....

working backwards in time.
Little Miss started school today.
She absolutely loved it. All she wants to do at the moment is learn to write. They don't learn to read or write until they have completed a "building blocks to learning" program. takes a week to 6 months depending on the child. She's being mucked around a bit with a teacher, as in, her one hasn't started yet, so she has been shoved into the last new entrant class that had spaces, and next week, she will start (again) with her new teacher in her new classroom, just her, and 1 other child. however by the end of June that class will be full. Tonight she was exhausted, and was in bed and sound asleep by 6pm. awww....

Her Actual birthday was yesterday, the birthday girl requested pancakes for breakfast, and then go on a bush walk. So we went to Smiths bush about 10 minutes walk from us, that we hadn't checked out yet. While there we did a bit of geocaching, and found it.

Her birthday party was Saturday. We had 20 children, 10 family, and about 15 odd parents here. thankfully it didn't rain like it was forecast to. phew. The Birthday girl had a blast. It was a tinkerbell, peter pan theme, as she has a good mix of girl and boy friends. I am very proud of my effort on her cake, which ill get a photo up on the photo board soon... unfortunately Oliver was sick, and had to be quartined upstairs with a movie, but tbh I think he was too sick to care...

Friday,
Missy's last day at kindy. She made a playdoh cake, showed off her protfolio to her peers, talked like a 7 year old and looked so big next to all of them, and right before all of this, I dropped my iphone. so had no camera. I would have cried, in fact I could have cried, but everyone would have thought it was because she was leaving kindy, and the reality is i'm happy for her, as I know that that wasn't were she wanted to be. So, it seems that my phone needs a new digitiser, and lcd screen. I'm tossing up weather to fix it myself or take it in for repair....

and then the last week, we have had a tummy bug go through the family which wouln't have been so bad, if I had a working washing machine. Yes, that stopped working 2 fridays ago. thankfully when Oliver was sick on the friday before the party, my friend was here helping me decorate the cake, and she took all his sheets and mattress protector home with her and washed them all for me. I love her. :D

The washing machine broke 2 fridays ago. I can't get the part I need to fix it for less than $130, it's not worth calling the repair man out due to the cost. But there is a mr fix it man in the house nextdoor to olivers preschool, and he is making me a new part. Its only the brushes(?) that go around the motor. they have just worn down, so he is butchering a old motor for me and sanding them down to fit my casing. bless him.

And the tummy bug in the family, started on the previous Wednesday. Thankfully Hubby was working from home that day, so he was able to keep an ear out for missy while I picked Oliver up from preschool and nipped to the bank, and ran, literally, into the bank/post office, while it was being robbed. I'm so thankful for the asian lady who had nerves of steel and was calmly walking out and walked into my path and told me what was going on and to get out. Anyway, spent hours from there talking to police, and I need to go back again next wednesday to do an offical statement.

and that's just the last fortnight. Next friday I'm not touching anything electrical, at all, all day.

It's never dull in NZ! :o

The bushes used to go on our old washer regularly, too.

And the washing machine is now fixed, and it didn't cost me a cent!! But I want to do something for the man who helped me with the part. I can't believe he didn't charge me!! I offered, but he said now. :D

Managed to get 3 loads through today after I put it back together. I think I'll be doing a fair few loads over the next few days.
