Hi, I'm Pat. Born and bred in Kingston upon Thames, moved to greater Mcr in 1973. Joined DM in 2000. Used to run the quizzes with dear Peps. I'm 74,married to DD for 48 years, one son (a police inspector, 46). One ex DiL from hell. Grandson Big E, 16, who lives with his mother and second family in Perth, Australia. Miss him sooooooo much. Son lives with 2nd wife 5 miles away. Second grandson, Little E, 6. Worked as secretary to NHS consultant. Been retired tooooo long and now got RSI due to too much internet time.

I may not post too much, but I read every day. Have had a few meets with DM posters. Unfortunately, I mostly house bound now so can't get to more meets.

Hi there, I'm Rosemary, age 64. I live in a small fishing town about 9 miles north of Dublin, and I LOVE where I live. Married to Edward for 42 years (today!), we have one daughter, one much loved 4½ year grandson Michael, and another grandchild due in October. We ran our local post office for 34 years and retired very thankfully from that two years ago. Now we do very little! We are keen social ballroom dancers, although that is a bit on hold at the moment as I've recently had a hysterectomy, and Mr. Osc plays golf. We love holidays and in recent years have discovered cruises, we go on our third in July.

I was on the Femail boards as oscarosie and was oscarosie_host for most of my time there. The experience I gained helped us to set up a ballroom dancing forum which we ran for 4½ years, only closing it very recently as we have a lot going on in our life just now. As I said, I've had an op, plus our house is on the market and we are waiting for it to sell so we can do major refurbishment on our old post office building, which will become our home when it is done. All taking forever, because we need money from the house sale to do the building work - nobody would give us bridging finance. I met many Femailers at various meets, especially the Brum ones, and last June met some VVers also in Brum - can't believe you are going this year, Paddy, when I'm not!!

So that's me, not much to tell really!

I'm Jan, married to Grumpy for 32 years next month  have three step-sons, 5 step-grandchildren ( but they're all ours, anyway :D ) one daughter from a previous marriage and one "proper", if that's the right word, grandson.Ages from almost 17 to 4 and a bit :D

Born in Liverpool, now almost 58  and moved around the country a lot, also abroad, with my family. Lived in London - the same time as Osc :D - early 70's, disasterous marriage, well, apart from Julia :D - moved to the west country, met Grumpy and off we went. A new family and the most fantastic and understanding parents in law x

Moved to Portuigal 8 and a half years ago, love every minute - apart from the red tape, but getting used to it.

Met a few from the old - after Charlotte Street - DM boards, Shibbsy, Schooldinners, Barmaid just to name a few.

And we now have Gladys

hi everyone :)

I'm Paula aka Poll, 35 and mum to A, who is my life :D been the two of us since before she was born as her dad decided to walk, I got the divorce started a few weeks after A was born, so that was that....been single ever since and A is 9 next month.

I used to be a secretary and had trained as a nursery nurse and done that for some years and then took myself to university and graduated last year with a degree in adult nursing, and I am now working full time as a community nurse.

I was on the DM boards and met Kaz there and lots of other lovely people, was on another forum after that and joined VV last year :)

Hello. I'm one of the 'newbies' but have been here for quite a while really. I know most of you from the Daily Mail (I was schooldinners) and I am also friends with a lot of you on facebook. I'm 25 (well o.k. x2 ;) ) and married to Joe, live in Portugal and have 2 children, one who got married last year (he's the one with the kidney illness) Ton and I have the Annual Algarve booze up, it is quite a tradition, even though it's only us, and I have met, Lozzles, jen and Miasmum (sorry if i have missed anyone out) I was born in Sheffield, but met my OH whilst working on the cruise ships, so we move here now and run our own cake bake place, I will post a bit more now, it just felt awkward as I didn't join in from the start.

Hi, I'm Frank,

A big hunk of cuddlesome seriousness and stupidity all rolled into one. I'm 60, divorced wirh two great children, one of each (27 and 24).

I have been, amongst other things, an aicraft engineer, teacher and IT contractor/trainer, and through those jobs have worked all over the world and with many different peoples.

It is said by those who know me that I will talk to anyone, Prince or pauper, beggar or thief, and about anything, that's probably why I feel so at home on VV. ;)

Hi ! I'm John.

I used to be on the DM website until Vocal Voices started up.

I'm now in my ninetieth year, old and grumpy at times, but still fit and enjoying life.
I have a lovely wife (my second) and a Welsh Springer Spaniel called Prince.

My working life was in engineering -- Draughtsman, Works Engineer and finally Personnel Manager.

My lifelong interests have been music, singing, nature conservation, stamp collecting and reading,
Aggers
