My memory of my room was that there were some very strange looking creepy crawlies on the ceiling which I thought might drop on me in the night. They weren't all that small either. I had to get one of the hotel men to come up with ladders to remove them. He put them into a jar and muttered something about Rentokil under his breath. That was when I made the vow that I would never stay in that place again.

Hotel men :P Large creepy crawlies  Rentokil

What a night Rodo :!: :!: :!:

As I've only been to Birmingham a couple of times I can't really be of much use as to venue, but I agree we do need somewhere where we can stay if staying over, or at least be very close indeed to where people are staying - as Louise said - and where people can drop in and out at different times, and also where we can eat, drink, but also be comfortable to stay chatting................And of course we have to be mindful of costs.........

Luckily we have a fair amount of time to thrash it all out, to suit as many as possible 8-)

Sounds like a great idea, but for me it would mean a flight and probably getting lost on my way from the airport to the venue. :D If you are ever in Belfast however . . . . . . . . .

Paddy there is no way to get lost between the airport and central Birmingham - the train service is brilliant and brings you right into the centre. All hotels being looked at are a short walk from the station. The first Brum meet, I went to, I was on my own and managed fine ;)

What Osc said! The airport is served by Birmingham International Station and trains run every 5 minutes or so into New St from there.

One of the good things about Birmingham is that it's not a huge city centre and New St is right in the middle of it all so, really, all parts of the centre are easily accessible on foot within minutes.

I've not had much to say on this subject. Not because I'm uninterested, but because I've no experience
of this sort of event, and I don't know Birmingham that well, as it has changed so much since the days
I used to go to the Technical College there - over sixty years ago.

I certainly hope we can achieve this meet, as I am dying to meet some of the lovely people I have become so
fond of here. I've already had the pleasure of meeting two of you on two delightful occasions, and I'm thrilled
at the thought of meeting others.

Aggers, it would be lovely to meet you. If you're unsure of the city centre and want meeting at the station, bus stop or car park then just say - and that goes for anyone who is unsure of where they're going :)
