Well.... it failed

Postby meriad » 01 May 2014, 10:43

thankfully not as badly as I though it would though; one of the brake lines is bulging. So now booked in for a repair to be carried out at my usual garage tomorrow and then back to Kwikfit on Saturday for a retest.

Then in for that full Monty service with all bells and whistles to my usual garage at the end of May when I have to money to pay for whatever they throw at me.

See, that's not bad after all.

At least you now know that it is worth spending the money on a super-duper service, and it gives you time to put something away for the inevitable day.

Yes I agree WM, you know now it's worth spending the money on - unlike ours, which sadly wasn't :)

You're both very right.... given the low mileage the car has and that I do; I should hopefully get another few years out of him (my cars are always male ;) )

You and me both, Meriad ... just been phoned by the garage and told the Ostromobile has failed the MOT, but nothing they can't fix today for loadsa money. :D

Basically, fog light and tyre need replacing. All told, including main service, it'll be around the £300 mark, which is £100 less than I was budgeting, knowing this garage ..... mind you, we're not out of the woods yet until I pick it up - they are past masters of the "oh by the way, we forgot to mention .... " phone call.

Brake pipe bulging eh? flexible presumably and just as well is was spotted it is a nasty feeling to push the pedal to the floor and nothing happens :( and yes it has happened to me. So your cars are male Ria so you can kick them when the situation warrants it?? :)

LOL no Ped; my first car was a 1969 dark green VW Beetle - I loved that car; it really had a mind of it's own. And somehow that car just never was a 'female' - all my female friends seemed to have 'female' cars; but not this one. Right from the start I referred to him as a he; and it sort of just stuck so for me cars have always been 'male'
