Jim Davidson now arrested.

There are all sorts of strands to the Savile cases, but one remains hidden or not followed, and that is the one of the facilitators.

Some people have already claimed that they "knew" what was going on... they have even gone public with their claims. So, why have none of these people been arrested?

If they really did "know", and did nothing, they are as guilty as the perpetrators. If they are doing nothing more than passing on rumours then they are guilty of wasting police time. Either way they need to be reigned in.

Sickening Frank... the whole business is shameful.. However look at the dress code of so many women and teenagers today, the under-age drinking, the drugs etc and the shocking results seeing them staggering out from the clubs and bars they are almost in the males eyes rightly or wrongly fair bait.

I agree Kate, but these cases are 30-40 years old. The social mores were different then, as were the laws, but if these people did wrong, then so did those who helped them, or overlooked their actions.

Esther is not blameless, and neither is Paul Gambaccini. They both claim to have "known" what was going on, as do others, yet they did nothing to stop it.

I find their "outrage" to be false and self-serving in their desire for Sainthood.

You are absolutely right Frank.. Show business like the BBC has always had the options for stars to have that comfortable couch where they can entertain anyone they might fancy, and there are not many females working in the BBC who havent willingly reclined on them. Few got where they are today through talent!! All knew and know what goes on! it's par for the course.

Davidson is being questioned based on allegations made by two women who were in their twenties at the time, over twenty five years ago! Not nine year old vulnerable children who were in care homes, hospitals, but by two peri-menopausal saddo women. who can say what they want - true, imagined, dreamed, spite, rejected? Shame on them both.

How true!

They, and others like them, should be charged with wasting police time if their claims turn out to be false or if what happened was within the law as it stood "at the time".

Some of the things I have read appear to be overlaying today's laws and moral values on those of a bygone age. We might like the idea that things have always been as they are today, but it is not true and never has been.

Davidson's future career is probably ruined now. Of course he was a bit of a lad, a flirt, took chances, live shows full of racist jokes (legal and acceptable then) sexist jokes (legal and acceptable then). How many more of his contemporaries will be under the spotlight based on the laws of now to the actions of then by women like that?

I see the odd headline saying a man in his eighties is being questioned by police following on from the So-Vile enquiries and I think 'Please don't let it be Brucie!'

Must be a lot of worried ShowBiz males out there.
