You know that won't happen, you'll have half the wardrobe in your case
I'm having a lovely sit down! I've taken Tom clothes shopping in Birmingham today. The original plan was that I'd walk Billy to my parents, get the 1pm train at their local station and then Tom would get on at the station near to school as he had a revision session this morning which was finishing at 12.30 (he's not back to school until Monday, this was just an extra). However, I got back from the gym and was pottering around when Tom came into the kitchen, all bleary eyed. He'd slept in so there was no point him going into school so we decided to get an earlier train. We walked Billy to my parents and I kept calling them to say we'd be there earlier than planned but there was no answer and their mobiles were going straight to voicemail. I thought that maybe their phone was playing up as they're usually out early and back early if they go to the shops. Half way through the 45 minute walk it started raining, and it got heavier and heavier. We got to their house and sure enough, they were out. We stood on their doorstep for 25 minutes in the rain and there's only a small canopy above it for shelter, I did have my umbrella but by then the rain was really heavy. Billy kept whimpering at the door as he couldn't understand why he wasn't being let in. Eventually two buses went past, one after the other. They'd gone to catch the first one by Tesco and it was running late and came at the same time as the next one. By then we'd missed the earlier train so got the next one.
We were in Primark for well over an hour while Tom browsed and tried on clothes. I was losing the will to live. Of course, he's capable of going on his own but he needed me to pay for his clothes. I had to treat myself to a visit to the Mac counter in Selfridges after that
Tomorrow I get a day out with Joe, I'm taking him to the football so we're getting the train to Manchester in the early afternoon as it's a teatime kick off.
