In my younger years I was a regular church-goer, and sang in a church choir for many years as man and boy (Treble and Bass).

Easter was then, without a doubt, a very special time.

Over the year, for various reasons, going to church has almost disappeared for me, but I must admit that I do miss it at times.

Easter for me, then, is now a time for remembering days that have long gone, and a time to enjoy chocolate and daffodils.

I think I find it hard as it is like a long run of Sunday's and as anyone that knows me knows, I hate Sundays

Yes, it's a special time for us in this household, as Christmas is. Mrs O and I attended the Easter Day service at the local Church, and we came home to the traditional lamb joint for lunch.

It varies. It always used to be, my mum loved Easter as at Christmas the rest of her (large) family would be busy with their own families. When I was young we'd often go up to my granny's (Dad's mum) for a few days.
Later we'd sometimes have my uncle & aunt from up there to stay, or we'd have a special roast lamb lunch then on the Monday other family would come for the day, her brother/sisters, cousins and their children.
A few years we've had Bb's family here, or we've gone to them.
This year it was just us :)

As others said, it's a nice time, less frantic than Christmas, with no big expectations, no presents to buy, just a nice time to be with family - if you have one ;) :)

I do as I don't work Fridays.

What they actually do at work is give me all my bank holidays back at the beginning of the year by adding it onto my annual leave. Then I can decide if I am going to take the bank holiday Monday off as leave or come in to work on the Thursday or Friday. Its fab as it really bumps my annual leave up - I tend to come in on the Thursday and save the days leave to add onto my other holidays.

Apart from Christmas - we shut down for the week so I have no choice.

I don't get a day in-lieu where I work now, but always did in previous surgeries. So if, as happened last Christmas, Christmas Day and New Years Day fall on my days off, it's just tough. I think I might bring it up again

One of the things I do NOT miss about working in retail is having to work on Bank Holidays! ;)
