Cotton and a greasy stain

Postby tonicha » 29 Mar 2014, 17:05

I have a lovely pistacho green blouse and I have, somehow  got a gurt grease stain on the botton.

Washed it before I realised and have washed it twice since, with a so called grease remover, which hasn't worked.

Any ideas?

Work washing up liquid into the stain, leave for about ten minutes then wash on 40 degrees xx

Try clear lemonade. Use a clean rag soaked in the lemonade and wet the stain.
Leave it and then wash normally.
This is what mrs.e does and it seems to work when we spill something.

Well, that took a long time.

Did the washing up thingy - twice  Nada, zilch.

And as I really like that top, I did it again, rubbed in the stain remover and then washing powder too

Result :D :D

WD40, talcum powder, shaving gel, bicarb, vinegar..... if it's been suggested I have tried it. My daughter once suggested soaking the whole tee shirt in cooking oil before washing it, bless her. :)

The only thing I have ever found to be 100% is Dr. Bechmann stuff - Stain Devils.

Washing up liquid well rubbed in before washing usually works for me. Ace bleach is good too but doesn't always get the worst grease stains out.
