Oh mum and I had a lovely afternoon knitting. :D :D :D

I can now:

Cast on

Cast off

Do plain, purl, cable, moss and double moss.

Mum is so patient with me..

We've been knitting 'squares' to get me used to all the different stitches, etc. :D

I have now decided I am ready to knit and follow a pattern from my Aneeta Patel bible- albeit a very basic one, but if I do it I'll be really chuffed.

What am I going to knit?

A bag for my knitting!

Well done you!!!

now here's the challenge - make sure your knitted bag to hold your knitting is ready by the time we meet so you can teach me. When we meet up in London we can join the Circle Line knitting club

Edited to add: just googled it and it seems it was a one off and they don't meet up regularly as I thought.... you're off the hook Ally; you can leave your knitted bag behind and we'll just have to head to the pub instead! :D :D 8-) 8-)

Thanks Gal. :D

I've just been sitting knitting for a little while as Don watched the footy.

Nothing strange in that statement.

EXCEPT!!

This time last week I would've been watching the game too...this knitting is addictive!

I can always bring it anyway and fill it with wine or vodka bottles.

Note to self: knit extra strong handles on said knitting bag!

I must find something to knit - I haven't done any for ages.

I have The Blanket - I need to pick it up again.

I am soooooo chuffed!!!!

Today I finished my first ever knitting project - it's a stripy bag long enough to hold all my needles. :D

I even managed to make it drawstring at the top and with a twisted cord. :D

I know it's only basic but I can't tell you how genuinely chuffed I am that I made something useful. Pic on fb.

Mum has been fantastic, really patient and very supportive, even when suggesting different stitches to try - and me saying I thought they'd be too hard - mum has given me the confidence to try them. :D :D

And I cannot believe how much I LOVE knitting!

I'm now googling patterns as I fancy knitting myself a vest to wear with jeans. :D :D
