The Meet - timing for travel

Postby meriad » 08 Apr 2014, 11:01

Can I just check what people are planning timing wise as I'm just trying to work out what trains I should book.

Knowing that Ally and Frank will already be there the night before I'm tempted to arrive a teeny bit earlier than last time (ie 10.30 or so) and gate crash their party    . But the main one I wanted to check with everyone is for the next day; and if people are hanging about then I'm happy to book a train leaving about 2ish and not 11am as I did last year. But obviously if everyone is planning leaving shortly after breakfast then I'll book accordingly as well

I'm going to be arriving around the same time as last year - which I think was somewhere between 11am and 11.30. I want to get the cheaper travel ticket so I can't set off from our local station until after 9am. The next train after is something like 9.20am, I will get to Derby for 9.50 and grab the first train out to Birmingham.

I'm not in any particular rush to get back off the next day so I'll hang around with you Ria. Shall I bring my cymbols and mouth organ and we can do a little busking.

Yay    and I've got a recorder somwhere so I can bring that along to play as well; may just make a couple of quid - if nothing else I'm sure people will donate lots just to get us to stop!

I have a tin whistle, so we can make a trio.

You crash away.... Ally and I will make sure we are not in a China shop at the time! I am sure we can find somewhere selling decent coffee and cream buns instead. ;) :P

I am not leaving till about 2ish - I would like to give the breakfast time to settle, and I have a bodhran somewhere, to tap out a beat.

Great - it'll be nice to not have everyone dash off right after breakfast :)
