Bargain Betty does it again!!!!

Postby lissie » 01 Apr 2014, 16:31

I went into M&S this afternoon and was going to buy the £20 meal deal mainly for the joint to freeze and have on
Easter Sunday when Son and Family are coming to visit :D
The assistant told me the offer finished yesterday so I was on my way out when she caught me up and said
"all the joints, veg and sweets are half price"
I went back and sure enough there was tiny little price cards with half price written on them :)
I got 2 large Lamb Joints and a large Beef Joint (and I sneaked in a 4 portion Profiterole Stack ;) )
It came to £46 and I paid £23 :D :D
What a bargain and that is Easter taken care off (and my sweet tooth for a few nights ;) )

lissie :) (I didn't intend to go to M&S but thanks to OH needing a wee we went)

Well done Lissie :D
Yes it started and finished a day early this time :)

They do have any leftovers from the dine in offer half price quite regularly, but in our store at least it's usually just a few trays of potatoes :D It doesn't occur to me to pop in each time though, I should really :)
You do have to look as the 'half price' is only on the shelf edge :)

I have three freezers and have been threatened, unless I start emptying and eating the contents, numerous legs of lamb, bought when they were amazingly cheap excellent New Zealand lamb.the Veal.Chicken. Curries I have made and frozen. Brisket various meals I have cooked. Pate the freezers are full.i have been warned Eat the contents or
they will empty them for me. My children always have a feast prepared when the come and visit. I still cook enough to feed a family (terrible)
I feed numerous friends and the lad who helps in the garden. (Had a lovely
Mothering Sunday card "to Mum" from him) his mother has passed on he has slight learning difficulties.
My daughter Gus can no longer stand the sight of meat grrrr so my efforts cooking lovely tasty meals For her are a waste of time. I feel so guilty that I hoard, but I do give a lot away!!!!

Kate it's a common problem, you're feeding the freezer instead of people, next time people are coming get stuff out :D

Well, the M&S in town had indeed run out or already got rid of all the meat, but they did have potatoes. We love those parmentier ones, so I got a pack for 90p which freeze and will do us at least twice if not 3 times :)
Plus a pack of Denver steak, whatever that may be, reduced from £5.49 to £1.50, and a meatloaf with vine tomato sauce for £1.65 :D
