Morning all.

I'm at work now (naughty me) and have very, very little to do for the day. I have wound down for my holibobs. There are only three of us in the office and one is on leave. I was hoping the area manager would be out today so I could read my book but sadly she is in so I have to find something to do for the next 4 and a half hours. The pile of work on my desk should take all of 10 minutes! I might tidy out the stationery cupboard!!!

Girls are off school today because of the strike. L went to her friends house for a sleepover last night and I left S in bed.

Meeting at school at 2pm which I'm hoping is all finished by 4.30pm as S and I are going to the cinema to see 12 years a Slave and we need to leave no later than 5.15pm.

Have a good day everyone.

Morning all :D

Using my new pc, it's lovely but it's going to take a while to get round windows 8, all very different to my old xp. The new keyboard feels different too, keep hitting the wrong keys :?

I love planning holibobs Di, have you decided where you want to go yet ?

Good luck at the hospital loz x

We were up early, just been down the road to get the papers and some fresh veggies, having a quick brekkie to follow and then it's mission tidy up. The study is beginning to look a lot better, but the small lounge is like a junk yard  will probably have to do a trip to the tip sometime too. We'll have a houseful this coming weekend, both daughters and their respective broods, really must get a wiggle on. Lots to do the next few days, visit mother, get supplies in for the weekend, oh and pop into town Friday to collect new specs. I'm exhausted just thinking about it all

Hope you all have a good day :D

Good afternoon all, it's gone very dull here after a bright start. We had a heavy hail shower about half an hour ago.

I did some shopping after the gym and totally forgot to pick up a gift card as a birthday gift for John's friend's daughter. I've had a bit of a dilemma over it to be honest. We used to see the family quite often, and were close enough to ask M to be Tom's Godfather, but we've lost touch gradually after they moved out of the area some years ago - the only time we have any proper contact is a couple of days before Christmas when either John or M call the other to arrange meeting up to swap presents for the kids, and even then it's just those two who meet up as it's usually a last minute on Christmas Eve thing :? We always send birthday cards and gifts for the children though and they do the same...except nothing came for Tom this year and I don't know if it got lost in the post, if they forgot or if they just decided not to bother any more.

Tom's feeling a bit better so has gone back to school today, their school is open as normal. It's not like he's been lying around doing nothing despite being off sick though, he'd brought work home before leaving early on Monday and was doing that and revising from around 2pm until 11pm yesterday.

Hope the appointment goes well Loz!

Brilliant news about the passport Di - the Passport Office take you by surprise with their speed at times!

Afternoon all, dull dreary day here, mostly mizzley and damp. Michael is here, picked him up from playschool as Mummy and Daddy had a special appointment (update over on Family board ;) ). It's SIL's birthday today so they are going out for tea. It's most disconcerting when a 4 year old proceeds to tell you in detail all about the latest big football matches, and how Manchester United's manager isn't very happy today, and that Chelsea are the best at the moment - he even knows the various scores     Off dancing tonight - I have a migraine but took one of my pills - we didn't go last week so I feel the need to spend some time whizzing around the floor. Nobody viewing the house again until Friday, so we are catching up on some batch cooking in the slow cooker to get meals into the freezer. Enjoy the rest of the day everyone :)

The passport certainly was quick - 7 days :D It was only a renewal, but I must have beaten the rush!

It gets awkward doesn't it Jo, knowing when to stop :?
Osc hope you've fixed the migraine, a few days off before any more viewings is nice :)

Jen probably Spain, it all got a bit complicated; I can only get insured for 'safe Europe' and we only want to fly from nearby airports. Apart from that we still can't book till the dog's sorted out ;)

Di, that was quick, but Doreen (MIL) has just renewed hers and it only took about 12 days 8-) Can I ask did you have to sign for delivery of yours? Despite being assured it would arrive by courier and require a signature D's was shoved through the letterbox like ordinary mail  Oh and it had Passport all over the envelope so no mistaking what it was  The same with mine four years ago :? You would think with such a very important document they would be far more careful

Jo, that might well been those friends' way of hinting gently that like you they feel the time for exchanging gifts is passing......... ;) xx

Osc, Michael is a real little character - adorable :D :)

Ria, Vic, the ironing is still sitting there!

Jen it takes a while to get used to a new pc or laptop doesn't it? :) xx

*waves to Ton* :D

I went to collect my M&S stuff, did a quick food shop (B is home tonight as there is no more uni this week and her zoo placement has finished) and got a fab bargain in Dorothy Perkins - odd as I never go in there normally but I wandered in and there on the sale rail for only £2 was a 3/4 sleeved tee in nice jersey material, in a deep greenish teal sort of colour. I've been looking for a top that colour for weeks now, and there it was :D :D 8-)

Fate Kaz :D
Yes Bb signed for it :)
Have you tried your bits on yet? I collected mine too :D

Just spent an enjoyable half-hour or more, a cousin has put his family album on fb (he's done the whole family tree thing) and there were a couple of my mum younger than I'd seen before :) . I was able to give him a couple of details re other family members too :)

Oh well I'm glad the courier in your area has some scruples! ;)

Nope not tried them yet, but think they'll be fine. Will try them on later ;)
