You really should! I've never been any further than Glasgow and Edinburgh but they're both lovely cities and the people are so warm and friendly

I have been to Aberdeen, very briefly, lovely city though.

It was just so relaxing. My friend was on duty for Luke, but he was fine. She rang a couple of times to check and his grandparents visited him too. Everybody had Tim's mobile number to ring, but it wasn't needed. I just enjoyed not checking my phone constantly and panicking when it made a noise, any noise

Glasgow is a fabulous city..it holds a very dear place in my heart.

Edinburgh - a beautiful place..and probably gave me my love for hills and climbs.

Scotland is a lush green has to be seen country - well worth a visit.

Proud to be Scottish? Just a bit!

Sounds like a fab break, and just what was needed. I too am all for turning the phone off on holiday, the kids are even getting use to me saying, "but theres no TV here" while standing right next to it.

I loved Alnwick and Edinburgh. I was really hoping a job there was going to come through first over anywhere else, but alas, that was not to be, so London it ended up being.

I'm so pleased you were able to find some peace and tranquility.

Kaz - yeah you should come up to bonnie Scotland one day to be honest, I haven't travelled much in Scotland, the last 2 years have taken me further North but still not very far, went to the island of Arran 2 years ago for a day and it was beautiful, and last year went a lovely drive further up.

Hoping to get the train to Inverness or Aberdeen in the Easter hols with Amy.

Funnily enough I have been to many places south of the border lol!

I have ben to Scotland many times.
First time was when I was in the scouts. Camped outside Edinburgh. Have walked the full length of Princess Street. It was in the days when you could go up Scott's monument. Went to Eyemouth.
On another trip we went to Iona and then to then to South UIst in the Outer Hebrides.

Have been to Inverness Aberdeen and Glasgow and other towns when I was working and on holiday.

Have also been to Northumberland including Bramburgh Castle and Alnwick

you can still go up the Scott Monument Cruiser - did you go up it? I am not brave enough, not good with heights - sadly someone fell from it in December last year and died

Eyemouth is a nice wee place, not been there for ages. I must go down to Bamburgh again soon as it really is beautiful

Ohhh Shell all those names are so wonderfully familar - we love Northumberland Luckily for us it isn't far to drive So glad you had a good holiday. weird about the smell though

If you ever go again I can highly recommend Puddleduck Cottage in the heart of Alnwick....log fires and no whiff!!
