Oh I love hamsters, they just have such amazing big personalities in their little bodies; but sadly with 6 cats just cannot have one :?

I had one many many years ago, a little brown and white girl called Suzie, she lived to about 3.

Another hamster fan here. My mum bought Bertie for Luke. Another escapologist. We came down to find the door open and Bertie gone. Luckily I am so slovenly as Tim looked around and said 'what do hamster footprints look like?" Sure enough in the dust on the black hearth you could see his footprints, so we found him under the bureau

After I lost Bertie, I had two Russian hamsters, sisters called Doris and Lottie. They were lovely, but they developed a skin infection. I took them to the vet and he gave them some drops I had to put in water and put them in. I said can hamsters swim and he said you'll soon find out and interestingly one could and one couldn't.

After their bath, I put them in an empty baby wipes plastic box with holes in the lid and stood it on the fireguard, so they would dry. As I stood in the kitchen reading the bottle of skin stuff, I saw the words "HIGHLY FLAMMABLE" boy did I run.

They were adorable little things, enjoy Gizmo Poll and Amy x

oh my goodness MM! They are very cute aren't they!

I was cleaning out his cage earlier, changing water etc, and put my hand in, he bit it a few times but just tiny bites so not sore, hoping he will get used to it and we can handle him :) he is so lovely!!

I took my friends daughter to buy a hamster for her 9th birthday last week Poll. The man in shop said they do nibble as they are getting to know you. He said to rub your hands in the sawdust first so you smell like his cage and not strange

Aw thanks Kaz

oh thanks for that tip, i shall do that tomorow!

aw and you know what, the person - shall say boy as he was so young- who sold me Gizmo and his house etc phoned me earlier to see how he was doing! Also to thank me as he asked me to fill in a survey thing to go in a draw to win money, so I completed it and said how helpful he had been, gave his name and what he done for me - he said his boss was really pleased with him! Lovely boy he was, deserved to be acknowledged for his hard work!
