Another New Years Honour award thread

Postby miasmum » 01 Jan 2013, 19:38

If you could award just one new years honour to someone who made a difference to your life last year, who would it be

Mine would be to Dr Leigh Moss, the Consultant Radiologist, who diagnosed my breast cancer. The way he dealt with it, the trust I had in him and belief in what he told me, is what made me so positive and dealing with it so doable. "Am I going to die? Well you are out there living your life, driving your car, taking the usual risks, so possibly, but of this? I wouldn't think so 8-)

A lovely man, to whom I will always be immensely grateful

I'll need to have a think about this too!

He sounds like a really wonderful man and a great asset to the hospital he works at.

Ok then - probably the Estate Agent who showed us this house :) Living here has transformed our lives, we are all so much happier here than in our last house :) 8-)

That is great Kaz, not sure many estate agents get awards, so he would be very grateful

Another consultant here. My plastic surgeon who replaced my two finger joints. I was pain free right after the operation and have remained so :D

I have just googled mine, bit late, but he is more of an expert than I realised and it explains why my biopsies he did were so painless

Dr Moss qualified in 1977. His main clinical interests are in breast cancer, osteoporosis including bone densitometry, oncological imaging and non-vascular intervention such as biopsies and drainages. He is the East Midlands Cancer Network Lead Clinician for the Northampton Trust and a member of the National Osteoporosis Society, and is chairman of the BMA Local Negotiation Committee at NGH and member of the BMA East Midlands forum.

That is brilliant Loz, pain is so wearing it must be brilliant wake up and immediately realise it has gone

Loz, knowing the difference it makes I bet you can't wait to get them done - any idea when it'll be?
