I think a coastal walk is up there as one of life's great pleasures. :D :D

We've been round my MIL's since late morning - she had a nice Christmas with the inlaws 8-) :D Back now and cooking a goat's cheese and chicken tart for din-dins 8-) :D

I know if I lived on or near the coast I would be down there as often as possible - bliss 8-) :)

Ooo that sounds nice - are you doing it from scratch? ;)

I've had a lovely NYD so far, we had a drink or 3 last night but not too much, went to bed about 1am after a giggle at the telly and at Smudge :D I slept well, seeing as I'd had two very bad nights sleep off the trot, then this morning I made my porridge and coffee and took them back to bed and read my book until 12!!  I was enjoying it so much I didn't want to get up....when I did I cleaned the kitchen and sorted Smudge's food and litter tray out....then have taken the bulk of the decs down as I am back at work tomorrow and I got so fed up of chasing Smudge away from the tree last night, I couldn't have stood it up another night!!

Having pie and chips for tea later, along with some of the lovely red wine sauce left over from our lamb meal last night 8-)

With having the long lie-in I missed out on a smashing beach walk today - we did one last year and it was horrible weather! Today would have been great - it's a 20 minute drive at least depending which beach we go to, but there aren't enough hours in the day to cram in everything you want to do! Glad you enjoyed it Di xx

Glad no-one is suffering TOO much after effects of the old falling down water! :D Get well soon those who are feeling below par xxx

Happy New Year to you all :D

I had the flu all over Christmas so NY was a quiet one. We had a couple of friends first foot us, a few nibbles and drinks then bed at 4am(an early one for us!)

Today was Ellie's 2nd birthday so we all went to her house for a wee party this afternoon. There was about 15 adults and 10 children all running riot. We spent about 4 hours there and then came home. I'm now back in my jammies and lying up on the couch-bliss!

Milford on Sea Loz, you can park in the village (Sea Rd car park) and just a short walk to the front. We can park for free there with our NF parking clock, and it's still cheaper if you pay than down on the front ;)

You can walk for a long, long way along the front, on a path or on a lower one by the beach huts and on the beach of course :)
Go left and you can walk along the spit to Hurst castle too.
And the beach cafe (Needles Eye) does lovely sausage baguettes ;)
On a day like today it's heaven on earth :)

Happy New Year everyone - here's wishing all VV'ers a happy and healthy 2013 :D

Di, you've made me very jealous - I love walking by the sea :D

We had a lovely New Year's Eve evening. My parents came around and we ordered a huge Chinese takeaway, it's been a while since we had a takeaway as we only ever used to seem to have them on special occasions and then we discovered an all you can eat Chinese restaurant near Wolverhampton. Anyway, since we last had one the takeaway we used to use has had some pretty poor health reports done on it so we decided to find a new one, looked at the local council's online reports and the one nearest to us is rated 5 star so we ordered from there and it was delicious!!
We sat around the table in the kitchen for a long time eating it and chatting with a couple of bottles of wine before going to the living room with my homemade fudge cheesecake :D

Today we've taken the decorations down and stored them all away in the garage, then this afternoon we've been for a very long walk on the Chase.

Erm no, from Sainsburys    It was one of the 3 for £10 deals I got in for over Christmas if they were needed when my sister and family were here........In the end I made a huge beef casserole in the slow cooker that night so the tart needed eating up - I popped it in the oven and we had it with salad 8-) Delish :D I'd imagine it would be easy enough to make though............pastry base covered with a chopped red onion and bacon mix (pre fried) then strips of chicken breast with a goats cheese topping 8-) I love goats cheese and milk :D

That sounds nice Kaz, for one of the rare days I allow us a pastry meal - I have some puff pastry in the freezer, that recipe would be handy for little bits of leftover chicken :)
