I have used it before for tutorials but that was when we had our slow internet and it spent more time buffering that teaching me anything. Shall have to have another look

May I suggest if you have not done a lot of knitting it would be better if you started with something in garter stitch.
Here is a nice little easy simple pattern that has the instructions as you scroll down.
It can be done with Double Knitting yarn and a size 4mm needles.

You can search by putting a name of what you want to make (ie bonnet), the type of wool, how much wool, etc.

It really is an amazing site.

I did actually knit a jumper once, when I was in my teens. It was all garter stitch and knitted on very big needles.
I can cast on and off, knit, purl, increase and decrease so I obviously did listen a little bit when my Mom tried to teach me

Scarf. Knit a scarf.

Find a simple pattern with different stitches - I love moss stitch. Always looks lovely.

No increasing or decreasing and dead handy when it's finished.

I bought myself some knitting needles today - only because they were a beautiful shade of blue!

I'm going to start with a scarf - dead simple, dead plain..and hopefully dead easy.

I need it to be cos I'll have a hissy fit if I fail.

I can knit, purl and cast on and off but I could never get the tension right so my stuff ended up in weird shapes

Doreen always has a jumper or cardi on the go, I reckon her wardrobes and cupboards must be a Tardis she has that many She's knitting a navy blue jumper at the moment but is rushing it as she is bored with the colour
