It's refusing to connect Gal, but I had been doing them in the microwave for a few years on and off.
But they're not quite the same as 'proper' poached eggs, and yes they do occasionally explode :D

This method is also not the same as pukka poached eggs, more like mock-fried, but really nice :D

Am I the only one that boils an egg soft, peels it and then pretends it's poached :oops: :lol:

hubby taught me that method years ago, until then, i'd been pulling out the egg poacher, filling with water, buttering the little trays, cracking the egg in, covering it, the slipping the egg off onto my toast. TBH, i think i prefer this method still, but our stove is induction and my egg poacher was aluminum, so out it went as it didn't work.

you can also get a little round metal ring that you can put in the bottom of a frypan to stop the egg white spreading too far
