Good morning Tuesday

Morning all. Cold and damp and miserable here this morning.

I'm at work but will be finishing at 12pm as I still don't feel brilliant. My throat really hurts still and I have a horrible tickly cough. I doubt I will actually do much work this morning.

I am going to be nipping to the patchwork shop when I fetch the post (its lethal to have have my office only 5 doors away from the patchwork shop with our maiboxes just outside it) to buy my cutting mat and rotary cutter. My mum gave me £50 for my birthday bless her so I am going to be spending it on patchworky things. I have decided to make a table runner first - a little smaller than a quilt - but I can't afford the fabric just yet so I am going to have a chat with her about how this morning about how much fabric I will need, etc so I can at least price it up. I thought I would do a Christmas themed one as I doubt I would have one on the table all year round.

Good afternoon all, it's been sunny all morning and has just brightened up again after turning grey and a quick shower, it's very windy though - hopefully it'll stay windy and bright as I have a line of washing out.

I've been to the gym, walked Billy and baked a coffee cake. I'll walk him again once Joe's home from school (I have to wait as Joe's not always got his key). Hopefully it'll stay dry and we'll get him a good run on the Chase tonight. We had a herd of deer about 10 yards standing in front of us last night, staring back at us, daft dog didn't see them though even though we had the lights shining in that direction.

I need an Ikea trip too, luckily the Birmingham store is only about 15 minutes away. I need some new everyday plates and dishes and they do a lovely 18 piece set for £15 in various colours to choose from so I want to get one of those next time I'm there.

Hope that J has a lovely break Saundra xx

We've been and did it :D
We both deserve Brave badges, neither of us is very good at being trapped inside  :o :)
All we bought was a couple of packs of boxes for bits and bobs like chargers, and some washing-up brushes, but the idea was just to go and look at the various options for TVs etc.
Now we have to decide whether to keep the fireplace & mantelpiece; they're only decorative, we took the old gas fire out when we moved in. If we take it out there would be a longer space, I think it might look nicer with something long in there.

We ate too, but I didn't do the meatballs, I was pretty sure I wouldn't like them and I was right, I had just a little bit of one of Bb's - no thanks :D The chickpea & cauli biryani was ok though :)
Oh and we couldn't find a catalogue

I shall go again one day before long, and have a proper look at some other departments :)

I like the cinammon buns :D I sometimes buy a pack of frozen ones from the shop to keep in the freezer.

We usually go at night and it's pretty quiet but on the one occasion that we went on a weekday, when we were buying a load of furniture for the study and upstairs living room, it was hell on earth. And to make matters worse they hadn't got the one thing we really wanted so we had to go to the one at Coventry which was a horrible store and not as spacious and well laid out as the Birmingham one. And to make matters even worse, even though the assistant at Birmingham had told us that there were something like 20 of the item in stock at Coventry, they didn't actually have any and hadn't for days! John then ended up going to the one at Nottingham  To be fair to Ikea though, they held their hands up over the error on the computer system and reimbursed fuel between home and Coventry and also gave us a giftcard which enabled us to get one of those really comfortable wooden springy chairs :D

That's why we'd planned on going today Jo, since half term was last week ;)
It was probably quiet, but there were still lots of people there :)

Whoops, forgot the weather report

Clouds and more clouds with a fairly brisk breeze :(

Done the ironing, have been chatting to some bloke in SA about our house and have arranged a couple more viewings in April for us to look at in Ourique :D Cup of coffee, then shower - Gladys is better for showering in the afternoons  then dinner and footie :D

Nor had we Ton, I think it opened nearest here the autumn after we moved, which would be 2006 but I'd have been too poorly by then and we'd not got round to it since.
We really do need some new stuff, and don't have shops nearby; I've looked and looked online but not really fallen in love with anything. They do have a lot of choice but it's all a bit confusing as you can have so many different combinations :?
Plus this is one long room (sitting/dining) so the two ends should vaguely match :D

Oh and Ps - it cleared up nicely here :)
