Postby cruiser2 » 24 Feb 2014, 16:27

Arrived home soon after 10 o'clock this morning. Our flight was a few minutes late landing. our luggage was delivered soon after we had got through immigration.
Have had a sleep and have been to collect car after it has been repaired.

Diflower and any body else,
We had a few days in Las Vegas. This was the seventh time we had been. There have been some big changes with several new hotels which are just square blocks without any theme like the Venetian or Ceasars Palace.
There is also a lot of building work at some of the existing hotels with scaffolding, tower cranes and large diggers and trucks making a lot of noise. At oir hotel, the Flamingo, the swimming pool was closed due to building work so we did not get the chance to sunbathe. Had a small flutter in the casino and won ten dollars.
Then it was a flight to Fort Lauderdale to sail on the Celebrity Century. This was the third time we had been on this ship. We had good weather, visiting Gustavia on St Barts, St Croix, U.S.V.I, San Juan, Puerto Rico, and Grand urk, Turks & Caicos before returning to Fort Lauderdale.
We don't think we will go again as the flights are very tiring. It is much easier sailing from Southampton as we can take three cases and do not have to worry about the weight.
Off again in May round the Med.

I love Las Vegas :D I've stayed at the Flamingo, I guess it is a bit old but a shame about all the building work and the big anonymous blocks :(
It is a long flight, especially coming home!
Sailing from Southampton would sound much more attractive - plus we do love seeing the ships, especially at night all lit up :)
