1979 was a big year apparently for TOTP - it was the biggest choice of genre at any given time :D One of my favourite years for music 8-)

I will alway heart Gary Numan's Cars :D 8-) I recorded a programme in the week about it all on BBC4, but not had chance to watch yet ;)

I never realised that Gal but yes, when you think about it there was such variety of sounds around that time. It was around 78-79 that I started recording off the radio :D

Cars is such a great song, but Are Friends Electric? edges it for me.

I met David Bowie. He stayed in one of the hotels I worked at. He was charming. And I'm a die hard Bowie fan so it was amazing.

He gave us tickets to a secret gig in a tiny club in London. It was out of this world. An experience never yet topped.

I can't remember exactly when it was but it was around the time of Black Tie White Noise and Outside, so around 93 - 95.
