What are you looking forward to in 2013

Postby debih » 29 Dec 2012, 21:32

I've just been thinking about all the things I have to look forward to in 2013.

My dad having his second cornea transplant (and hopefully it working this time - haven't really mentioned that it hasn't worked for him as it is too depressing
Millie Moo getting stronger and stronger every day.
My new kitchen. Woo hoo.
My new Kenwood multi chef - I really am too excited for words about that.
My new utility room being finished - must give Mick a nudge on that when the kitchen is finished
Our mini break to Legoland Windsor in March (courtesy of the inlaws)
Cornwall in August
Lake District in October
James (the cooker) coming home

So all in all, 2013 so far looks like a year with lots happening - hopefully all positive.

Debbie, I thought about your Dad the other day and meant to ask how he was doing. I hope this surgery goes well for him.

Funny how you call Millie, Millie Moo....Billy gets called Billy Boo Boo, even one of the girls at Dogs Trust called him that (without knowing) when we went for a visit

So far there aren't many plans for 2013

Green Day with Kaiser Chiefs as support in June
Cornwall in August

We used to have a cat called Boris. Then we found out she was a girl.

We started to call her Borisina Cleopatra Dooh Dah Dooh Dah Day. But only in private mind.

Dad's eye rejected quite some time ago. He has had sight on and off but for the past four months there has been very little. The consultant thinks it could be because they removed a cataract not long after the original cornea transplant and he (the consultant) is hopeful that it will work this time. His op is on 21 January.

Only one thing arranged for 2013 at the moment - our ballroomdancematters.com trip to Blackpool the weekend of 12th April, I booked our flights last night and 10 of us are going so far. Looking forward to it already!

Hopefully the planning application for the old post office building will be lodged within a month or so, and that could all take about five months if there are no objections. Then we have to get down to the nitty gritty of the financial stuff, so as this is all costing money before we even put the building work out to tender and start thinking about selling the house, I don't know if there will be any holidays in 2013. But you never know ;)

Otherwise nothing major planned except more of the same - enjoying our retirement!!

What am I looking forward to in 2013 ?

A continuation of the happiness my wife and I have enjoyed this year.

We have everything we need to keep us happy, so I just hope that our health and good fortune will continue.

I also wish that, for my lovely friends here on Vocal Voices,2013 will be a happy one for them and their loved ones.
