Morning Ally, morning everyone :) That cake sounds scrummy, hope you'll get a slice or two of it Ally ;)

Just watching the Breakfast news again, they are live from Staines again......looks dreadful, but at least H is out of it! He said last night he was glad to be here as he was starting to feel scared - kids like him are not good with any sort of change really never mind stuff like this - so I am very grateful that Mick went for him :) I'm taking him out today to buy a new mobile phone, he saved some of his birthday money for one 8-) Not spoken to Chris yet today but will a bit later, I am sure he's fine, he was adamant he wanted to stay yesterday.....

The winds have been dreadful and the storms, I hope everyone here is ok and not badly affected?

Have a good day if you can, stay safe, dry and warm! xxxxxx

Well we lost some complete fence panels and we don't as yet know where they are. They were blown completely out from the concrete posts. There was also some other stuff blown about, some large planter tubs blown completely over etc. and we had a mini power cut, but as far as we know that is all. We haven't looked at the roof yet though.

Another thing was that my sister-in-law in Frinton was rushed into hospital with heart trouble and a chest infection so we are worrying about that too. We are also in the middle of major decoration work in the house - it's all happening!

It all seems fairly calm and still this morning and quite a bright morning too. Have a nice day everybody.

Morning all - gosh, reading your posts I realise just how lucky we were. The winds were strong but no damage down where I live that I could see. I was worried about three old fence panels in my garden but they all seem to be in place still.

 Rodo - you've had a bit of a time of it - sorry (((hug))). Hope your SIL is OK and also hope you find and are able to salvage your fence panels. I'm surprised they mangaed to get out the concrete posts though, because they'd have to snap in half to do that and they'd be close by I'd have thought. Are you sure it isn't a case of someone nicking them because they're actually easy to get out without damaging them and it saves them buying new panels?

Kaz, enjoy the phone shopping with H today - something nice to take his mind off things; poor lad.

Saundra hope you get all your bins sorted

Ally, good luck with the cake surprise

Stay safe everyone x

morning all,

Cold and windy here, we had a small flurry of snow yesterday but nothing else :)

We went to the cinema last night to see the Lego Movie in 3D, it was really good, stuck in the house again today as the plasterer is here and then have to wait on the clerk of works to come and see what has been done and discuss the mess in Amy's room and if I can get a decorating allowance for her room!

Hope everyone is safe, and Kaz im so glad Mick went and got H yesterday, poor wee thing, he will be glad to be safe with his mum now :)
