I took Billy for a walk around 5pm and the noise of the wind in the woods behind our close was frightening. I could hear it as soon as I opened the patio door, I've never heard it like that before

It actually seems to have eased a bit here - just a bit - and they say there will be gusts of wind for the next couple of hours. I pm'd our dance teacher's wife on FB to say we weren't going out and she said she was at the studio, but had been terrified on her way there, they live further away than we do.

It's taken our neighbour over 3 hours to get home from the centre of Birmingham, and her fella is currently stuck somewhere north of Crewe on the train that he's driving.

I had to drive home from our head office in Coalville this afternoon. A one hour journey took me two and a half hours. It was really frightening.

I was lay on the bed early listening to the wind and I heard a tree come down with an almighty crash behind the house somewhere. I will walk up that way tomorrow with Millie yo have a look. No doubt mick will be up there with his chainsaw at the weekend!
