It's terrible here already and we have two hours until the worst begins apparently. They have clocked 106 mph in Blackpool.

I supposed we are used to high winds here as our house faces east to the sea - but these winds are coming from the west, and they are the ones that cause damage as it's not the prevailing wind for the area. We were supposed to go out but have decided not to - too many trees coming down, pictures of trucks blown over etc. and AA Roadwatch and the police are advising against unnecessary travel. Our SIL's brother has a weather station that he runs online, and he just posted a photo of the weather station which was blown off his roof a short while ago - they only live up the road from here.
