Shirley Temple RIP

Sad to see that Shirley Temple has died, albeit she was 85. She was one of the first celebrities to go public on her breast cancer, which was in 1972 - I heard her on the radio and started to examine myself, discovering the first of my breast lumps and going to have it checked it out. Thankfully for me all was well and has been subsequently as well.

She was a real lady who got out of the whole Hollywood child star thing with her sanity intact, and went on to have a very productive and happy life.

She was only a few years younger that I, and I remember her well when
she was a fantastic child film star. But that wasn't all - as an adult she
has led a full and interesting life.

Rest in peace, Shirley.
