Mr L, who can fix everything, has been unable to bring it back to life Di. We popped into the sewing machine shop in town, but they wanted us to bring it in. It wouldn't be worth the cost of the service, so I think I may have to get a new one. It only needs to do straight and zig-zag, so a basic model will do. I need to have a look. It was only 30 years old My mum's is over 50 years old and still going strong!

Could just be the timing slipped, Loz. If Mr L can look at the drive underneath there is usually a bevel gear on a spindle fixed by grub screws, the position of this should be adjusted so that the cotton loop from the needle just engages the cotton from the bobbin.

Afternoon all, pretty stormy here with showers of rain and sunny bits too. Mr. Osc has headed out for a walk and I am just about to do the same. Chicken thighs simmering away in the slow cooker with lots of nice veggies so the house smells nice! Not sure what I will do this afternoon, going to a surprise 60th birthday party this evening and as that may well be quite a late night knowing our hosts, that will probably wipe out tomorrow Have a good day everyone

Good afternoon all, it's sunny again now after a shower earlier. There's a bitterly cold strong wind though.

I'm tired. Tom woke me at 4.30am to say he'd got stomach ache and had I got anything he could take for it so I went downstairs and got him some painkillers, but I couldn't get back to sleep properly afterwards and my alarm was set for 6.30 anyway so that I could make sure he was up and out for his paper round. I stayed up after he'd gone, got ready and made his Big Bang Theory cakes for him and his friends tonight, got the washing on the line nice and early and did some cleaning. The washing dried pretty quickly so that's all ironed and away now.

Just off to pick up a parcel from the sorting office before it closes at 2pm, then I need to get Tom some bottles of pop for tonight. We're dropping Billy off at my Mom and Dad's around 5 before heading into Birmingham. Just wondering if I can fit in a nap beforehand

Mr L does think it could be the timing Pederito. The needle is picking up th thread from the bobbin, but it still isn't sewing

Loz I also have a mister who can fix pretty much anything - it makes him a bit cross when he can't

My mum had an antique Singer, one of those set on an iron fretwork table and could be worked by foot!

We are having a very nice day, just having a few minutes on here while the Birthday Boy plays on the Wii
