Just had an e-mail from the estate agent about the house we like - there is yet another legal problem - so although we'll have a look-see, I really think it's a no-no

And I do think we've idealised that house too much - the is a heck of a lot of work and Grumpy is not getting any younger. So we'll see .......

And now I've just heard that the hotel has put their price up by 10 euros a night and cut our discount

That's not on, is it! Had you already booked?

Sort of, so I e-mailed them back and told them to give us a normal room, still with discount-

We alway used to have to "de-lux" room - which had a bath, shower and a lovely view. As long as I have a loo, bed and air-con, I'm happy

You'll be out in a bar most of the time anyway, won't you?!

Had a grovelling apology from the hotel - new manager, some new staff (and she really needs to learn a bit about customer service ) and the room we used to have is now a suite, hence the price hike. So Joao has booked us into the next best room, with a balcony. Still with discount, but not as much.

And no, we won't be in the hotel bar - too expensive. Now, the little bar down the road is another matter
