It's Tom's birthday next week and he's saving for an iPad Air so has asked for money from us, from my parents and from John's Mom and along with his savings he should have enough to buy one. I decided I'd order one for him to have on his birthday so that he doesn't have to wait so ordered from Amazon on Saturday and had an email this morning saying that it would be delivered sometime today by 'Amazon Logistics'. I'd arranged for it to be delivered to John's office as there's always someone there to accept a delivery.
John texted me mid-morning to say that it had just arrived and I had an email from Amazon saying that it had been delivered to the reception at the specified address. So far impressive because it was ordered using the free delivery and not next day yet it was delivered the next working day.
John called me this afternoon to ask for the tracking number. He said that one of his colleagues had asked if he'd signed for a parcel from Amazon. John said he had, so this fella asked where it was so John said that it was in his car. He said he looked confused and it turned out that he was also expecting a parcel, a Karcher pressure washer, from Amazon and his order tracker and an email was stating that it had been delivered to reception at 10.36 and John had signed for it. Except he hadn't. He'd only taken delivery of one parcel and signed the touchscreen - and not with a stylus but was asked to sign with his finger - once.
He's had an email from his colleague tonight asking for our Amazon account name and the order number for the parcel that John actually signed for, our parcel, as Amazon are saying that his parcel was definitely delivered and signed for.
