That was what I'd wondered WM, that you'd be basically eating the same thing all the time :o
Stockpots are definitely done like that, just boil each day and then use the stock, which might make more sense, but then I don't use stock every day either :shock:

Di, the stock we had on the go when I was a kid always got used, but that was because of the types of meals we had in those days - meat and potato pies, stews, casserole, cottage/shepherd's pies, braised steak sort of things.

I reckon that chicken soups would work. A bowl at lunchtime with a sandwich or thick slices of crusty bread and butter would be perfect in this weather.
