That was what I'd wondered WM, that you'd be basically eating the same thing all the time Stockpots are definitely done like that, just boil each day and then use the stock, which might make more sense, but then I don't use stock every day either
Di, the stock we had on the go when I was a kid always got used, but that was because of the types of meals we had in those days - meat and potato pies, stews, casserole, cottage/shepherd's pies, braised steak sort of things.
I reckon that chicken soups would work. A bowl at lunchtime with a sandwich or thick slices of crusty bread and butter would be perfect in this weather.
