It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

Postby Diflower » 20 Dec 2013, 19:00

Finally, we have found our Christmas spirit :x :D :P

The tree is up, and decorated to the sounds of a Christmas cd :D
The mantlepiece is decorated :D
The Christmas runner is on the sideboard :D
The 'Snow' cushion cover I made is on its cushion :D

And I sorted out the freezer to try and make some space - and found 7 little sausage rolls lurking in a bag :D
Now lurking in tummies
As are a couple of samples of ermm what would they be called? crostini? We're having a sausagey casserole for dinner (half saved from Weds) so I made some cheese & onion bread. Made 2 long thin loaves, then when cold sliced and re-baked, brushed with oil. Ooh they're lovely, had to shove them in the freezer before Bb ate the lot!

We're pretty much sorted - just a final shop on Monday for fruit and veg - oh yes, and the turkey crown to pick up from the farm shop on Sunday. Mustn't forget that!

That all sounds really lovely Di - the decorations and the food!

I've got a full freezer too, I've had to remove the top drawer to get the turkey in and now everything is just piled in and falls out whenever the door is opened. Roll on Monday when I can take the turkey out!

Lol yes Jo, we've a big turkey breast joint (1kg) in there, which I shall cook either Christmas day or early Boxing day, and a gammon joint, and that prawn ring in its big box which is for the 27th.
Today we took out a small baguette for lunch which is why I knew there would be room for the new bread :D

We've got a 1.6kg gammon joint in there too. That'll come out perhaps on Monday too, ready to be cooked on Tuesday. I can then get some bread and rolls on Monday 8-)
