Whoops - I slept longer than I expected!!! Have just been up long enough to grab a cup of coffee and run the hoover round downstairs. Am about to hoover the stairs (I had to have a break as the hoovering made my back hurt!!!) and the bathroom and landing upstairs and thats the cleaning done!!!!

Need to get a wriggle on getting the lamb and potatoes ready. Then prep the veg and then I'm off for another snooze until the girls come home. I'm going to slow roast the lamb so that can go in shortly and just sit there and wait. The potatoes will take around an hour and I am thinking of not doing the creamed parsnips now and just doing the cabbage and carrots. I have some pigs in blankets so that will fill the plates up.

They can take Millie out when they get home. Then a shower and up again to lay the table and starter ready for everyone arriving at around 6pm. The veg will go on as they arrive, as will the kids pizzas and garlic bread.

Good afternoon all, it's sunny and bright but also windy and icy. I'm going to take Billy out later as it was too slippery underfoot earlier and now I'm waiting for a call for the daily bull***t-athon from Virgin

The boys finish school today. Joe gets out at 1.15, Tom got out just before 10am. He only had one lesson as the rest of his Friday morning is taken up with free periods and then they were expected to go to a fun football game at the cricket and hockey club. Those who couldn't make their own way there would be taken by the school minibuses but they'd all have to make their own way home. The club is quite a way out of town and only accessible by winding single track country lanes which are a bit of a rat run off the A5 and it certainly isn't safe for pedestrians. Anyway, he and his friends have got the train into Birmingham instead. John finishes work today too, he's still got holiday left so is taking Monday and Tuesday to use it up.

Hope the appointment goes well Kaz!

Osc, I bet the ballroom's lovely at Christmas - have a great weekend!

Hope you feel better soon Debbie!

Afternoon all :)

Hope you feel better soon debih xx

Enjoy the dancing osc, sounds like a fun weekend ahead :D

Safe journey Ally x

Good luck at the dentist kaz x It's where we've just been, had our check up earlier this week and E was told he needed a filling. Luckily they were able to fit him in this morning as our dentist is away from today until after New Year and we're away to Barbados on 6 Jan........not sure if I've mentioned that before  ;)

Just got time for a light lunch and then we're off to the hospital. It's my eye post op appointment and E's seeing the cardiologist. Both should be routine, my eye is settling nicely and E's is to discuss the echo results which should be straight forward.

Hope you all have a good day :)

Deb, hope you feel better soon, you and I can be in poorly corner together as here is another day that's had a change of plan owing to my bug :o Tom's taken a day holiday and we had thought of popping to town for some last minute bits, but as it stands I feel too poorly to attempt town, so he's using his day off at the farm with his mate and dogs :) At least one of us is enjoying their day 8-)

Jen isn't working today but she is off to meet her pal for lunch soon in town, so I'll be here alone for a bit, although will be picking Lewis up from school at 3.15 - at his request :D He's off to a party at 5 so we won't have him for long, but at least I'll get a Lewis hug, I'll have to wear a scarf over my mouth!!! :o

Good luck at the dentist Kaz! Hopefully you won't have to return again!!! :(

Have a smashing weekend in Blackpool Osc xxx

Have a good day all xxxxxxx

hi everyone,

*hugs* for those who need them and Kaz, hope the dentist went ok!

Last day of school for Amy so we are in holiday mode now :D :D I popped to tesco this morning and they had big bars of chocolate and the wrapper was made out to be a £50 note so got that to go in Amy's stocking! ;)

We had our lunch and are going to the cinema shortly, film starts at 4, Amy wants to see the new Harry Hill film, Julie Walters is in it - saw a clip, it looks so stupid it might actually be funny!

It is also freezing here and I have heard we may get sleet tomorrow, its very icy cold though!

Oh, my cousin and her family fly over from Italy tomorrow, haven't seen her since I was about 12, that wasn't yesterday! She is staying with her parents (my auntie and uncle who recently moved up from England), so we are going over on Boxing Day, really looking forward to it :D :D

It's horrible isn't it Gal.

I was so tempted to cancel tonight but I've been so looking forward to it.

I'm just pleased I opted for a roast as there is so little prep to do for that.

I'm back in bed, hoping that a couple of hours sleep and then a shower will make me feel better. At least my teeth have stopped hurting!
