Good afternon all.

It's been a lovely morning here, after (so I'm told) a very windy night. I really enjoyed my
long early-morning walk with Prince.

This evening I am Quiz Master at the Christmas Quiz I am doing at our Lodge. This is a
joint effort, as Mrs A is organising all the traditional eats and drinks - (to help all those
suffering from memory loss.) I put on one of these quizzes every two months, and
they all seem to like them. Half the questions have multiple-choice answers, which they
like. This afternoon I will be busy re-arranging the furniture in our communal lounge into
the required number of groups or huddles.

Hope you all have a nice day, and that my friends with health problems soon feel better.
Aggers

I'm sure you'll all have fun with that Aggers :)

We've done the garden :x :P It looks a lot better than it did - it wasn't awful, just needed a few tidying-up jobs doing that I knew I couldn't do by myself.
It's getting cloudier again now, but at least it was lovely and sunny while we were working out there :D

Oh - and now it's absolutely hammering down, all of a sudden  :?

Good afternoon all!

I'm feeling very AAAARGHHHH! today. Virgin still haven't put a stop to their unauthorised cancellation on our services and the disconnection date is getting closer and closer. I've got the lovely lady at Sky calling me yet again tomorrow - we've called and had conference calls with Virgin three times this week already with various agents, all who tell a different story and who never call back with updates when they promise.

On a plus note though, I saw something in the local paper this morning that really made my day! When I first started my last job, the assistant manager was a girl called Tina who was about 5 years older than me and when the manager left and she was promoted, she promoted me as her assistant manager, we used to get on so well and working with her was so much fun. She left to have children and bring up her family and she then put me forward for the promotion to manager, she had a lot of faith in me which I really appreciated. We kept in touch sporadically but lost touch over the years. The last time I saw her was maybe 15 years ago, we were in Sainsburys and she was saying that now her children were growing up and settled in school she was looking at doing some studying as she thought she might like to go into teaching.

Well there she is in the local paper today in an article about league tables and how local schools are faring, she's posing with staff and pupils at her school - she's now head teacher at one of Staffordshire's most successful primary schools :P :P It really has put a big smile on my face! :D

Oh that really is a lovely story Jo :) :D :x

Good luck with Virgin :? :?

Sun's out again now, Bb and Minnie have just been delivering all the neighbours' cards :)
And I've just lent next door some cutters and tins for mince pies :D She's the only person I would lend to, she always brings things back as soon as she's used them :) :x

That is a cracking story Jo, well done to her! :P :P

I walked into town and all the way back again, just so I could have a toasted teacake for my lunch!  Hoping the 3 mile plus walk will have walked off the calories :? :x   I bought myself a red blouse to wear on Christmas Day............that 'bargain' red dress from M&S I got a few months ago is too tight  :?

Too many teacakes

I have had 2 crispbreads, 1 dairylea triangle and 2 slices of plastic ham (all made into a 'sandwich') so far today...about 125 calories
So please stop talking about toasted teacakes

Actually, I'm glad you said that Kaz - I wonder whether my (definitely vintage and nearly antique!) black velvet skirt might fit this year...must dig it out and try it :)

But yeah, you're right - just this morning I was grinning when I came downstairs and said to Bb how thrilled I still am that I lost that stone. I'd put on those skinny M&S jeggings with a t-shirt and jumper (only bum-length, not tunic) and not even bothered checking in the mirror whether it looked all right :x :P
