Embarrasing moments ......

Postby TheOstrich » 02 Dec 2013, 19:54

I recall a football match I attended a few seasons back, can't recall exactly where now. Having queued up at half-time at the hatch and come away laden with a tray of chips in one hand and a polystyrene cup of tea in the other, I propped himself up against the pitch-side railings while trying to sort myself out. Just at that moment, one of the substitutes on the pitch, out practising during the interval, hit a long cross-field ball from the far side – which I watched, with mounting horror, like a rabbit in the headlights, come straight towards me, bounce once, and hit me smack in the …… I didn’t drop any of the produce, but I suffered a rather painful second half!

What's your most embarrassing moment? :)

I joined the Village gym when they were doing a 'special' and was given vouchers to attend some classes on a try-out basis.

So, I did a stint in the gym proper before my free 8 pm intermediate step class - one man, twenty odd women, but that was not the embarrassment.

Off we go: and left and left and stop; and right and right and up and down and stretch and squat and forward and back and squat and spin. It was great, good music and a nice 'dance' thrown in. Went for a shower after and then a nice cool beer and then off home. That was when my problems began, my legs would not work - total jelly! I had to do the shuffle-bum to get down the outdoor steps to the car park then get someone to give me a pull up.

That is a let down WM, to use a pun. It was just getting interesting with you and twenty women ;) Presume though you soon recovered. 8-)

Ok, my two best, out of a looong long line

First one happened when my first hubby and I appeared on the TV quiz show Gambit, many years ago. Before the recording they took us to the canteen for a meal, and I was chatting to one of the production people about my baby - Chris was a few months old at the time, and she said one of the other contestants was pregnant :) So I wandered up to the lady with the tummy in a smock and congratulated her, expecting a lovely mummy chat about babies - and she looked at me blankly, then looked offended, and the awful truth dawned on me  :? :? Turned out it wasn't her, it was one of the other ladies

Second time was the recent debacle in Waterstones when my bag was setting off security alarms all over town, and I walked up to the assistant in there to explain, and it wasn't the assistant! :o :?
