A good day

Postby Lozzles » 03 Dec 2013, 10:29

You may or may not know that I am campaigning for Hearing Loops to be installed or maintained in Salisbury. Last week M&S got back to me and have ensured that their Loop system is working and today the manager of Debenhams called me. They do have a loop system in one area of the shop, but until I contacted them he didn't realise that it wasn't obvious to deaf people. He has now promised to put a big sign on their front door and also in the department where the loop is installed.

It's brilliant Loz and lovely to see that one person can make a difference :D :P
Very well done you :)

Is there a good reason why it's only in one area of Debenhams??

Well done, Loz.

They don't seem to be very good round here, but that doesn't bother me much as I don't do much shopping on my own.

I don't thinks so Di. I'm sure it just comes down to money. Shops and banks etc are supposed to have loops but a lot don't, or don't service them.
What makes me very cross though is that the hospital audiology dept. are not automatically programming hearing aids to work with the loop. There is no reason for this. I wouldn't have the program if I hadn't asked for it and it does make a difference. That is my next battle, but I need to get myself properly sorted before going there ;)

Well done Loz. :P

Until you pointed this out I'd never noticed how many shops and banks in our town have this sign clearly shown.

And now that I think about it even more the lovely Captain Slow in our post office is partially deaf but is an excellent lip reader.

Well done again. 8-)
