What wonderful timing---not

Postby lissie » 30 Nov 2013, 11:24

Just had a note put in the letter box from the National Power Network
to say our power will be off from 8am till 2pm on the 9th December :(
What wonderful timing with people filling up their freezers for Christmas
and no heating for those that need it :(
Our boiler is being serviced that day so I will have to cancel that as well.

I wonder which comedian decided to do this work just before Christmas :?

Bad timing, that!

Your freezer contents should be OK if you avoid opening the freezer door.

Get your house well warmed beforehand, and sort out some warm woollies.

A flask of hot water might be useful, too.

Very bad timing. Silly really but I suppose they have to do the work sometime.

I agree with Aggers - your freezer contents should be fine for that short a time.

Have you got a gas hob - if so at least you can boil up water for cups of tea. If not then a thermos is a necessity - or a day out!

Have a day out Lissie - much more fun.

And agree that your freezer and fridge stuff will be okay.

I'd be having a day out and a night at a hotel. :D

But then any excuse as far as I'm concerned.

I don't suppose any time would be convenient really :?
Probably better done when the weather's cold, rather than in the summer when fridge stuff might spoil.
Full freezers are more efficient, I'm sure frozen things will be fine - but no internet :o :D
I agree, just decide to go out for a while and for lunch :)

We are seriously threatened with an electricity strike - strike notice expires on the 16th December :o   That should make Christmas great fun NOT   Hopefully they will sort it out by then, but the main union official is a right so-and-so, if I was talking to him I think I would have to punch him
