How the other half lives

Postby Workingman » 28 Nov 2013, 19:21

It is reported that the Saatchi - Lawson household spent between £75,000 and £100,000 a month, and that's outside of normal and staff costs. That's between £2,400 and £3,300 per day!

If I won a huge amount on the Lottery I could probably achieve that by buying a house and furniture and a car and heaps of clothes, but it would eventually come to an end and I would go back to normal(ish) spending.

I simply cannot get my head round how it could be done day-after-day, year-after-year.

Still, it's their money.

the thread title says it all, really. If I could afford to spend money at that level, it'd go to charity ....

I am not being critical or jealous, I hope nobody thinks that, but I cannot imagine how I could spend £120 to £140 per hour, every hour..... even if I lived in London.

There must be some incredible conmen/women preying on the rich is all I can think.

I don't understand it either.

Even if you ate every meal out a top restaurants, threw away every single item of clothing once you'd worn it, along with towels and sheets, I still don't see how you can spend that much on a daily basis!

I know he's worth an absolute fortune, but I would like to think I'd always keep in touch with reality!
Surely you'd have to really, really try to get through quite that much :?

Can you imagine having a good night out and not getting up till noon and then realising that you have to spend 500 quid before your beans on toast?

Hell, I tell you, absolute Hell.

Like Brewsters Millions, every day :D

'I might really fancy egg on toast but I'd better shave this whole truffle over it otherwise it's just too cheap' :D

It must be hard, having so much (only slightly tongue in cheek).

I can't get my head around how you could spend that much.
I'd be willing to give it a try though....
