A dress for Christmas!

Postby Diflower » 24 Nov 2013, 16:12

You may remember when we changed our broadband/phone provider, I got £75 in Love to shop vouchers :)
I'd spent some, on everyday tops, and today spent the rest :D
I got a couple of much-needed basics (t-shirt, polo neck), a nice thick cotton polo neck and a pretty cotton blouse in EWM.
And Peacocks replacements for my warm Coolers slippers that fell apart last year.

But amazingly the best buy was a dress, from Peacocks, which will be lovely for Christmas day and also if we're invited to neighbours etc - for £20! :D
This one
It fits beautifully, and looks really smart :)
Thankfully in my M&S spree I got some shoes :D

Di that is gorgeous - I presume you got the black one? :) :)

I got a dress for Christmas too, from M&S but as it was on their sale rail a month or so back there is no link, as it's no longer current

It's red in quite a thick jersey fabric, with 3/4 fitted sleeves, a scoop neck (not at all low) fitted bodice, and a straight skirt :)

Oh and it was a tenner, down from £40 :D :D

Yes the black one :)
The red was very bright but none in my size anyway - since it's the only dress I have it's best to be versatile ;)

Kaz that sounds like a brill bargain, and hopefully one you will be able to keep for future Christmases too :)

And although I mentioned shoes, actually I rather liked the lace dress with my fabby new boots :D
It does need a necklace...

That is lovely! You can't beat a nice bit of black lace. I quite like the red one too!

It really is lovely, I'd honestly defy anyone to spot the cheap dress in a line-up :D

I love the sleeves, they're perfect. I didn't want sleeveless and then need a cardi or something, but given that I'll be cooking, didn't want long ones either :)

Now Kaz (or someone) please pick me the right kind of necklace :D
I was thinking maybe big fat short beads?
Those long necklaces look nice but I always feel they're in the way, and bang on the table/poke the dog's eye :)

Of course it is entirely down to the individual but I would wear my simple silver cross with that dress as I'd feel the lace was enough.

But we're all different..whatever you choose will look great, I'm sure. 8-) 8-)

Ally is right, you don't need much with lace :) :) Something simple I think 8-)

Fab with boots Di, I often wear boots with dresses :D
