I will be voting UKIP, for much the same reasons as Ossie. They also believe in a free press, unlike the main three parties.

Paul Sykes is the son of a miner from South Yorkshire who left school with no qualifications. He became a mechanic, started selling car parts then moved into the refurbishment of engines. A t one time he was selling engines and refurbed buses to China, and made a lot of money at it. He then got into property and invested in the massive Meadowhall shopping complex in Sheffield before selling his share for an alleged £250 million. He got out of property before the 2008 crash and lives in some style near Fountains Abbey in North Yorkshire.
He is said to be worth £650 million.

Maybe we were looking at the place through a different perspective shell.also off subject.
There was a great deal of poverty there in my great grandfathers day, he was sent to sea at the age of ten, one of a large family, who worked on the coal sloops at the age of seven to help his mother financially, he almost died of rheumatic fever as a child and died at the age of thirty nine when he was established and recognised for his wonderful works of art. Lots of poor people but stalwart. I also think we were carried away emotionally seeing his wonderful paintings hanging in galleries (George Chambers) he became famous world wide as one of the finest marine artists, along with his brother.
Nice to discover my half sister after 60 odd years whose genealogy skills led her to find me and our forefathers.
I loved the Yorkshire people, the architecture and the scenery was magnificent.
