Tell me you're joking - round here it's a constant evening cacophony from the start of Diwali (Hindu Festival of Lights, mid-October) to New Year's Day.

Same here, we buy and freeze, and we use it for cabbage leaves stuffed with sausagemeat and tomato ...

I think my favourite seasonal treat is a Terry's chocolate orange. :D

And the one "seasonal" item that I've noticed Asda have faithfully stocked all year ...... is Hot Cross Buns!

I did too at 15 but with a brandy in it.

I don't think there is anything that I would specifically buy at Christmas. Years ago it was the obvious dates, mince pies, chocolates, sugared almonds, those orange and lemon slices in a box, chocolate brazils. Nowadays if we want it we can buy it all year long - and sadly we usually have chocolate in the cupboard! The really sad thing is - most Christmas food is far too rich for me to be able to eat it anyway nowadays!

I agree Cal. I think when I was a child everyday food was quite boring, in a way. Meat and two veg - good plain cooking. That made the Christmas food really exciting - a real treat 8-) :D

Now we can have anything we want, at any time......
