Go on then - who's started/finished/hiding head in sand

Yes - its a CHRISTMAS thread.

According to my ticker its not long now. :kick: :kick: :kick:

On the back of Weka's thread about having written her cards I was wondering where everyone else is with their organisation.

I have bought the bulk of my presents. Girls are all bought or ordered. I just need a few more things for their stockings but a trip to B&M Bargains will finish that off.

This weekend I will start mocking up my hampers (I do four of them) to see what else I need to make/buy and then have a trip to Lidl to get the bits and pieces for them and also some bits for the freezer.

I need to get a couple of big tins of chocolates - one for the dad that gives S a lift to school every day and one for the riding instructor. They will come from Sainsburys so will just pick them up next time I'm in there.

Need a trip to Toys R Us for presents for our two year old twin goddaughters but I know what I'm getting them so that's easy enough.

Mick isn't having anything as he bought an expensive Barbour when we were in the Lake District (£250) so that was his birthday/xmas present all rolled into one - though I will get him some bits and pieces (smellies and sweeties).

I have 3 birthdays to buy for - Micks (already bought - the coat plus a DVD), Micks dad - big jar of Brazil nuts and a bottle of spiced rum (year in, year out that's what he gets) and a friends 8 year old - probably give him money.

I have all my cards though I do need to get some cheap ones for the girls to send to their friends (no doubt B&M Bargains or Lidl will have some cheap ones), I have plenty of gift wrap left from last year (I think!!!) and I don't tend to do a big food shop as it is just the four of us.

I am going to start wrapping some time this week. It is my most hated job so I want to spread it out rather than have to have one marathon wrapping session nearer Christmas.

So where are you all at...............

I have bought some super dark sunglasses to block out the twinkly lights and my mp3 is on full belt to silence the bl**dy jingle bells.

I refuse to take part until Saturnalia, at the earliest, or even Winter Solstice - so there! :-P :-P :-P :D 8-)

Bah humbugs you all are (except for Kaz).

I do like to get everything done by the end of November so I can relax and enjoy December (I do love Christmas).

In fact, I'm a bit behind this year as I like to get all the present bought by the end of October so that November's wages can be spent on alcohol, food (though I don't go over the top on food stuff) and lovely nibbles.

who's hiding head in sand

Well I suppose I've gotta post on this thread ....

About 1/3 of the way there .... cards bought but not written, pressies arranged (more or less) for family, bought the cranberry sauce and bread sauce towards the turkey meal (long way to go!) .....

Bought a chocolate Yule Log, but that will be lucky to make 1st December.

Investigating the possibility of a day in the local park (organised Council-approved activity, fortunately) to collect holly.
