Evening all.

Got back at about 3pm this afternoon. My back is feeling better - I actually think sitting completely still in the car for almost 4 hours did it good!!! I am dosed up with ibruprofen though and have just got out of a very hot bath.

The weather was dire most of the way back and it is now hammering it down. But the log burner is lit, the washer is on its 2nd load and I am in my pj's, waiting for Mick to come home with a Chinese takeaway!

We had a lovely holiday - we saw the owner this morning and she asked if we wanted to stay tonight as well, for no extra charge. I would have loved to have done but the girls have a singing thing in the morning so we had to be back for that.

We didn't do a huge amount - lots of late mornings, late breakfasts, walks around Wastwater or along the beach, sitting in cafes overlooking the sea and going to the pub. And lots of afternoon tv - boy is there some rubbish on!!!

Not sure if we will go again next year though - as much as I love it I think we could do with a change as we visited all the same places. I am thinking Northumberland and Mick is thinking Pembrokeshire.

But first, I have to sort our Cornwall holiday out for next August. But before that, we are off to Norfolk with my sister, her other half and my mum and dad - in April.

Now that would be lovely but a) none of us have passports at the moment so that would be a massive expense and b) we couldn't put the dog in kennels anymore because of her food thing and it would be too much to ask my mum to look after her for a week or more.

We had considered it as we were thinking of Crete again for next year but can't now because of the dog.

Your holiday sounds wonderful - the pics were amazing

Dogs can be a tie! We've got round the holiday thing with Pepper by taking her with us in this country - as you have with Millie - and when we've been to Corfu we've either left her with D (MIL) or with Becks at home. Next year though we are going to have to put them in kennels - Becks will be away at uni and we can't ask D to take two dogs!

There is a lovely kennels not too far away that we used once for Pepper when we went to Lanzarote in 2010 (D was away that week too) that I think we'll use - they will put them in together to keep one another company, so I don't feel too bad about that. Of course it is an entirely different kettle of fish with Millie's health issues xxxxx

I am planning a holiday somewhere hot and sunny and ALL ON MY OWN for my 50th birthday. But that is still another few years away yet.

We have used kennels before with Millie and she loves them. And the kennels always seem to love her.

I think it would be too much to ask for them to have to feed her the way she needs feeding and even if they could then I would just worry that something wasn't going right and that she was being constantly sick again and we would come back to find her back to where she started.

The worry now of course is that if she is sick on a regular basis it can cause the acid to burn her throat, the burns to scar over and then the scars to cause the stricture to enlarge. Right back to square one!

Yes I would be the same.........With that amount of worry it would spoil your holiday anyway, so what would be the point?
