M25 crash

Postby Workingman » 01 Nov 2013, 18:10

At 9:30 this morning a lorry overturned injuring four people.

Now I know that the injured have to be assessed, treated and removed safely, but why oh why is the road still closed nearly nine hours later? It is causing havoc on the M25 still and to hundreds of thousands trying to get home.

I have been caught in pile-ups in France and Germany and the priority for their police and their equivalent to our Highways Agency, once the injured/bodies are removed, is to get traffic flowing. Why not here?

No evidence is was a hazardous load or anything ...

Can only guess it's the fact that the lorry demolished the central reservation, and it would need removing and they'd need to replace the barriers before the motorway could be opened?

The driver has been arrested on suspicion of causing injury by dangerous driving so I suppose they have to investigate thoroughly......he is still in custody.
