What a compliment!

Postby debih » 28 Oct 2013, 20:48

We were sitting in the pub this evening talking about holidays and saying we fancied going back to the cottage in Cornwall. This is the woman that rents her home out during the school holidays.

So I text her to ask if she would be renting it out next year as we were interested.

She rang me immediately to say she wasn't intending in letting it as get daughter was getting married so she wanted to be around but she was happy to rent it to us if we were happy for her not to remove all her stuff as she trusted us to look after it.

What a compliment after just one stay at her cottage. I said if course we didn't mind and we wouldn't dream of touching things that didn't belong to us.

I've got to ring her next week to sort out a convenient date.

Should add.

We left it spotless when we left as Millie got hold of a sausage roll whilst we were out and was sick in every surface downstairs so we scrubbed it within an inch of its life!!!!

Omitted to tell her that when we left though!!

You probably left it cleaner than when you arrived and on that basis, would you like to come and stay in my house?

Lucky you Deb, I daren't mention the word Cornwall for next year

You must be very pleased, Debih.

We have been doing self-catering for many years, and we have found that it does pay to clean the place up well before leaving.
The owners do notice and they do remember if you should ever contact them again.

Good for you !!!
