Mmm, well, I got the towels washed nice and early, but the back garden gets barely any sun by this time of year so by 4.30 we gave up and they had to go on the airer wedged in the airing cupboard door
It was almost my favourite thing about the lovely summer, just not having to worry about the damned washing all the time! :D

Our airing cupboard's a bit of a nuisance, there's a massive water tank and a couple of expansion tanks in there and not much room for anything else so we can't have shelves like we had at our old house but I did have a bit of a brainwave the other week and bought a telescopic shower rail and put that in there. I can now iron anything that's slightly damp, put it on a hanger and hang it from that, with the door ajar so it doesn't get damp and mouldy in there.

I remember you mentioning that during the summer Di..the fact you didn't have to worry about drying your washing. :D

I peg mine out on the line in the garden almost all year but when it does rain I put the clothes on airer under the patio. :D

Jo our airing cupboard is the same - all tank and no shelf space  I wonder if I could get one of those shower thingies in mine? Ideally I would love shelves so I could keep my bedding and towels in there, nice and snug 8-)

I like to peg out in the summer, nothing beats the fresh smell of washing in from the line, but am lucky and have a utility room with a tumble drier so can always use that - and anything that can't go in the dryer goes on hangers on the back of the utility door or else on some small chrome rails I have behind the kitchen door :)

I'm really lucky - my flat is quite warm (and I live on my own) so in the winter, I do a load of washing when I come home, hang it up on a clothes horse before I go to bed and then leave it the next day and usually it's dry by the time I get home from work, esp if the heating is on. This time of year when the heating isn't always on, it can take a day or two more but as said - I live on my own so it's OK and not in the way :D

I got it from Argos, it was only £7.99 so it wasn't much to lose if it didn't work out - John had to cut a bit off for it to fit.
